New Calling...

Last week the primary president called Matt's phone asking for me...

I got a little bit excited and yet a little bit nervous.

I guess that there is a sister in our ward that is going to teach english in Japan for 7 weeks, and they need a substitute. That's where I come in. She wanted to know if I would be interested in teaching for 7 weeks.

Of course I said yes! I have been wanting to be in primary for a long time, and now I can be.

I sat in on the class today and loved it! The kids are great, and very.... enthusiastic haha. I am teaching the Valiant 11 class.

I'm pretty stoked people! That's all :D

I am so excited to have a calling that I kind of know what I am doing. I also have a calling in the relief society, but I have NO idea what I am supposed to do. So I am hoping that this calling will help me and Matt become a bit more interactive with our ward!

Family Photos

We convinced Kelsie to take some family pictures for us on friday. Unfortunately Cohen was not a happy camper during most of the pictures... But Keslie being the awesome photographer she is, she got a bunch of cute pictures. :)

Cohen's face looks like he was just at the dentist and got injected with some numbing stuff.... HA

Probably one of my most favorite pictures.

Another favorite

The all so famous "O" face :D

:D

I love being able to use Kelsie to take some family pictures for free.. Well not really for free, we bought papa john's and root beer that night haha.
But thank you Kelsie we love them! You have now become the new family photographer for life, SUCKER!

13.1....

Let's start from the beginning....
Kelsie: "Hey Amy, wanna run a half marathon with me?"
Me: "Uh.....nope!"
Kelsie: "Matt will pay you... :)"
Me: "........."
Kelsie: "$100 a mile :)"
Me: "...OKAY"

Yes everyone I have decided to run a HALF MARATHON!! And Matt has downed the cost to I think $800 total..So whatever that is a mile.. haha

Kelsie has convinced me that it will be fun and a good idea...(good idea, in the fact that I am getting $$ out of it haha).

So we started our running last week on tuesday, so today was the second week of running.. We were supposed to run just a mile today and then our long run (on Saturday) was supposed to be 1.5 miles. BUT Kelsie and I didn't know how to mark out just a mile... So we actually ran 2 MILES! HAHA

It felt way good to run that far, but definitely HARD.

So far I have been staying pretty on schedule with what I am supposed to run everyday... Today I ran 1.5 without stopping, so that is good... Hopefully it will get easier..

Next,
Mother's Day was on Sunday. Yes, it was my first Mother's Day and it was amazing!! Matt and I sort of celebrated on Saturday though. He took me out to California Pizza Kitchen (YUM) and gave me an awesome present, some new running shoes! I love them tons!!

Nike Free TR Fit Women's Training Shoes
Okay so these aren't the exact pair that Matt got me. He got me some way cute purple ones, which I loved as well, but I just kinda like these ones a little bit better. And actually I ordered a different pair before I ordered these ones lol! Woops-a-daisy.. Anyway let's just say I LOVE THESE SHOES!!

On Sunday we went to church and Matt's co-teacher (who owns a cafe) brought in some chocolate covered strawberries. MY FAVORITE!

After church we went over to my parent's house and had an amazing pot roast dinner and played the WII with the family.

All in all I must say that I have the most amazing family! I am so grateful to be a mom to the cutest little boy ever! I just hope that I will be the mom that he fully deserves! I love him and Matt so much and I am loving every minute of having my very own family!

Thanks so much for the best first Mother's Day!!

St. George!

Over the weekend we went down to St. George with the Alters and Olsons. We drove down after work on Thursday with Kelsie, Orrin, and Zoe. I was a little bit worried about how the babies would do on the way down there, but luckily they did great! We were very lucky! The trip was awesome! Definitely a needed get-a-way! We spent our days swimming in the pool and just kinda walking around and loving the warm weather. Kelsie, Orrin, Matt, and I were all talking about how much fun it would be to all move down there. Oh how I wish sometimes. I don't know if I ever could though. Here are a few pictures that Kelsie (the family photographer) got from our lovely trip.

On our way to ST GEORGE!

Cohen is waiting patiently to eat some yummy food.

Getting ready for his first swim!!!

I Love this picture! Cohen and Daddy went down the slide at the park.

Stunna shades!

ONE....TWO....THREE.... down you go..

Grandma and Grandpa swimmin.

One of my favorite family pictures.

Cohen wanted to hold Zoe's hand so bad!

Going down the slide together!

Daddy got a good laugh out of him by throwing him in the air.

I love our family!

Kelsey B Photography

A few Saturdays ago Matt, Kelsie, Orrin, and I took Zoe and Cohen to get some pictures taken from a good friend of mine. Both Kelsie and I thought that if we fed the babies before we went that they would be happy and smiley for Kelsey. Little did we know that both of them would be so tired when we got there that both of them were very onry. Kelsey was able to get a few good shots of both of them though, and right as we were about to give up and try another day, they both fell asleep and we were able to continue with picture taking.

Kelsey did a good job and we are so happy with the turn out!

Here are the end results!!

Kidney Stones..

Alright so my last post said something about a UTI.. Well come to find out it was no where near a UTI.!

Let's start from the beginning.
A few Thursdays ago I went in to see my doctor, because I thought that I was in the middle of a UTI and I just wanted to get it to go away! For some of you that don't know what a UTI feels like....You constantly have the sensation of feeling like you have to go to the bathroom really bad. So the doctor put me on some medication that should have made it go away.

So for a little while it was working, the pain was gradually going away. Until the next Thursday hit!. I was at work and I started to have the feeling of needing to pee my pants like every ten seconds! But when I would go to the bathroom nothing would come out! So I thought that the medicine hadn't kicked in or something..  I thought I would just let it go for a little while, until my left side started to have a stabbing pain in it...For about 2 hours I held it together thinking that it was just going to go away, but when it didn't I just left work and went to the emergency room! As soon as I got there they hooked me up to an IV, and started to analyze what was going on with me. I got about 3 doses of Morphine because the pain was just too much to bare!!(Good stuff by the way :) ) After all the morphine my oxygen level sorta dropped so I had to have oxygen hooked up in my nose. It was way uncomfortable.

The doctor came in and told me that they had found traces of blood in my pee and that that is a sure sign of kidney stones. Let me just say, coming from a person that JUST had a baby, kidney stones are WAY worse!!! I would have a baby 12 times over than have another kidney stone! So after my oxygen and things stared to come back, the nurse unhooked me from all the monitors and told me I was good to go..The doctor gave me some prescriptions for some yummy drugs and another prescription for an anti-nausea pill. Which both worked wonders on me! :)

Over all lets just say....KIDNEY STONES SUCK!!!!

What the HECK!!

So Cohen has decided that he wants to learn to ROLL OVER! Last night he started to arch his back a ton and he was basically on his stomach. Yes, I know that this is going to happen, but I thought I had a little bit more time with my baby. :( After he started to get the whole rolling over from back to front I wanted to teach him how to go the other way too.. So I helped him a few times and then he just did it by himself... Now let me just say that he hasn't really tried again since, but it is a start people! :) I'm so proud of my little man!

He is also doing to cutest thing ever! (Kinda annoying though) He is started to want to suck his thumb while he drinks his bottle! haha. So he holds the bottle with his left hand and sticks his thumb right on inside his mouth. Breaking the sucking seal of his mouth, he now creates a funny sound whenever he eats now.! I love him so much! :)

Matt is trying to get into the Y. He has been trying for quite some time now, but every time he tried to make an account it wouldn't let him. So he called someone there and they spent a very long time trying to figure out the problem. And well the problem was this....Someone had stolen Matt's social and had created an account already. So now that they have figured that out Matt is on his way to becoming a COUGAR. He might not be able to get in this fall but come spring BYU better watch out! :)

I applied for a different promotion at work this last week. It is called Donor Processor Lead. I am already the lead on the floor, so this isn't a promotion or anything just a switch-a-roo. I don't really think that I am going to get it, but the hours a bit better and that is really the only reason I applied.. I just miss being home at night with Cohen and Matt. So we'll see how it goes..

(I really suck at pictures)

Tax Season...

Tax season has been pretty good to us this year. Except for the fact that we missed out on $8,000.00 by 21 days. When we bought our house we were 21 days off from getting an 8,000 dollar refund!. SUCK!! haha. oh well Se La Vi. (La Vi) :)
We bought a lap top with some of the tax money we got back, but we are thinking of taking it back and saving that money for when Matt goes to the U. Who knows what will really happen..

Cohen is getting so big..he almost doesn't fit in size 1 diapers anymore. It makes me so sad to see him growing so fast, but at the same time he is getting to be so much more fun. He is smiling all the time and he is starting to realize who both Matt and I are. He was sleeping through the night but recently he has been waking up more.. :( that kinda sucks. haa. He had his 3 month birthday yesterday.. and we really didn't do anything for him haha. We got him some new clothes over the weekend I guess that kind of counts.

Last night Cohen and I went to Lisa's bridal shower!. It was at the Pie, Cierra, Julie, and Natalie were there. I am so excited that Lisa and Logan are finally getting married. I feel like it was a long time coming, but good for them! :)

So can I just say that UTI's are really sucky!!! I have had one before. I had one right when I got pregnant with Cohen and that sucked, but this one is way worse!! I called my Dr. and I have to wait till tomorrow to get in to pee in a stupid cup! SUCK!!! I feel like I have to pee constantly, but when I go....NOTHING COMES OUT!!! Ugh. Looks like it is going to be a long night. ha

Next post will have pictures I swear! I just need to get some from Kelsie. Cause she is the photographer in the fam.

The Boat Show

On Friday Grandpa Dave took all of us to the boat show. Cohen was such a little trooper, as was Zoe. :) It was pretty fun to go and see all the amazing boats, but I think that this show was much more fun for Matt, Jake, Orrin, and Dave. Kelsie and I just kind of followed around. Still fun though.

Here is Cohen expressing his annoyance at being in a car seat instead of inside the boats!!

Daddy and Cohen sitting inside one of the many boats we saw that day.

Mommy and Cohen

GO BYU!!! Yes everyone I think I am converting to the Y... Sorry UTAH.

Awe, our little family!

It was so funny, Matt was just holding Cohen and we went to take a picture of him and Zoe on an engine and as soon as Matt put Cohen up there Cohen just passed out. He is so stinking cute! So here is Cohen taking his power nap before we got to the big boats!

The boat show was a success I think. Matt seems to think that this is going to become an annual thing. Which is okay with me as long as grandpa Dave pays every year haha :)

The Week, All Summed Up

Well let's just say it was my first week back to work and my first week away from Cohen. It was kind of hard, but I think I did pretty well. I try so hard to not call very much while I am at work because I find it harder to stay at work ha! So I just let Kelly and my mom do their thing and just hope that Cohen is being the little sweetheart I know he is. The best part about going back to work would be that when I get home and see Cohen, he always seems so happy to see me! Holding him is just a stress reliever in itself. I love being a mom!

Moving onto the weekend....

This weekend was pretty fun. I had Saturday off (which probably won't happen very often)  and we went and saw TANGLED with Julie and Josh. It was such a cute movie, both Matt and I loved it! (Julie cried!!! Don't tell her I told) Before the movie even started Matt leaned over and whispered to me, "Ame, we can buy this movie, K?" It was so funny! Even after the movie all Matt could say was how cute it was and how good he felt that we went and saw a "good" movie. :) He is so cute lol!

Then on Sunday...We went to church and well....I didn't really want to stay for all of church, but I have the best husband ever, and he made us all stay lol! To make it even better I forgot to bring food for Cohen and by the time Relief Society started Cohen was having a complete freak out and so I had to stand outside. Trying to get a hungry baby to stop crying is really hard lol! It doesn't really work out very well.

After church we ran up to Dave and Kelly's for the yummy food and the SUPER BOWL! It was quite the game...(which i didn't really watch)! Green Bay won and took home the trophy! YAY... On the plus side I know Cohen isn't gay! LOL. He was staring at the TV the whole time the game was on! He didn't sleep AT ALL! :)

Over all the week was pretty good. Cohen did pretty good at not having a mommy for some of the day. :) and I did pretty good at being away from him too. Matt is done working for Pinnacle as of today! They are dumb... So now he works only for Geneva which is good, he likes that job a lot better.

 And that's about it! :)

A Little Behind...

A while ago Matt Cohen and I went sledding with Natalie Neider and Uncle Jake. :) It was so fun! Cohen slept the whole time, but sleeping put aside he did great at sledding haha.

We all went up to Natalie's family cabin and just went down basically their drive way! We got going pretty fast. If i can figure out how to put a video on here you all will see how Matt and I went flying down the hill.

But here are some fun pictures we took....

On our way to the cabin

Cohen's first time on a sled with Daddy!

Cohen's cute snow outfit from Grandma Great!

Cohen snoozin after a long day of sledding haha! Even though he slept the whole time! :)

About that video.... haha I don't know how to put them on the computer yet so that will have to be another day!

Back to Work I Go...

My day started out waking up to Cohen in my bed :) Even though he was crying because he was so hungry I couldn't help but feel relieved to see him!

You see last night I had a dream that I left Cohen at a babysitter, and someone came and took him!!! Then randomly brought him back and left him on our porch or something. Anyway...he was all bruised and beat up.! The person that took him had abused him and then brought him back for me to take care of. So now you can understand the relief I felt when i saw his perfect little face in the morning!

That was just the beginning of the day...

After feeding Cohen I had to get everything ready for....MY FIRST DAY BACK AT WORK!! Yes I am not back at work. And Cohen is now spending all day everyday with his lovely grandma's. No matter how much I love both my mom and mother-in-law, I am sceptical at how well they will be able to take care of Cohen (compared to me). I trust them and just need to let it happen, but I am having a bit of a problem... HA.

So I get to work and have tons to do! Re-certs are here and a ton of S.O.P. revisions. Basically I WAS the floor lead and now I have to relearn everything. It sucks. Then on top of being new but not really, there is this girl there that thinks she can be a better lead than both Julie and I. Ugh...work bites.! Luckily when I called grandma Kelly at lunch she reassured me that everything was okay with Cohen and that he was being a good little munchkin and that I just need to relax. :) So I did just that. I went back to work and kicked some butt! (I'll show Maddie) ha.

The only thing that stinks right now is that I thought I was going to be coming home to see my little man, and grandma kelly isn't home...and she isn't answering her phone. So what am I doing now?..Talkin to whoever is reading this thing. Basically venting about how sucky my day has been...and how I have yet to see my little man... :( it's killing me!

Luckily...Pot roast is for dinner! mmm my favorite!

Go Jazz!

The Alter family went to a Jazz game last night! It was awesome.

Greg Miller (Larry H. Miller's son) lives in Matt's parents ward. So every year he gives the ward tickets to the skybox. We were so lucky that there were two tickets left over! I don't think that neither Matt or I have ever been in the sky box.

Orrin, Kelsie, and Zoe came and picked us up, when we got to the Energy Solutions Arena we had to find the elevator that would take us up to dinner. Finding the elevator wasn't hard, but getting on it was a difficult task... There was a large line waiting for us when we got to the elevator. When we finally got up to the 6th floor, I think it was the 6th floor might have been the 5th, anyway...There was a large banquet waiting for us, with tons of food! There was Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, and yummy dessert!. We got so spoiled!.

After dinner was over and the game was about to start we found some seats on half court. We woke up Cohen and took some very cute pictures and when Kelsie posts them on her blog I will post some as well haha..

In this skybox there were free concessions as well! Nachos, popcorn and drinks. I loved it! haha Being spoiled is the best.

Cohen and Zoe did so good at their first basketball game. They didn't cry or whine or anything, well just a little bit ha. Cohen and Zoe were hanging out on a table most of the game and were loving every second of it! haha

Zoe watching the Jazz play hard :) She is so stinkin cute!

Cohen was cheering so hard!

Here are the two little munchkins hangin out on the back table!
Having a good ol' time :)

Saturday we are going to be hanging out with Kelli, Lars, Randi, John, Amber, and Eric! I am so excited to see them. I miss all my friends! Being married is kinda hard, we never see our friends. But I guess its okay as long as Matt and I have each other and Cohen haha :)

I love my family! They are my entire world, I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have them in my life.

Here are a few extra pictures!

Jake and Jason wanted to play house! haha.

Round 3?

This is my third blog now! I tried to start one about an hour ago and apparently it didn't work...hmmm. So anywho.... a lot has happened since my last blog that i had...

Matt and I bought a TOWNHOUSE! I love being here. We have lived here for about 3 months and have had a ball trying to decorate. Matt is on my case all the time about hanging pictures, but I just don't know where to put anything haha.. So far we have quite a few things hung up and are still in the process of making it our own. One room that i got decorated first was our new little addition Cohen's room. It was so fun putting everything together for when he arrived.. Cohen Matthew Alter was born on November 22, 2010! He weighed 8 pounds 11 ounces, and 20 inches long. He is amazing! I can't believe how much i can love him so fast! haa. He is now almost 9 weeks old! How time flies!

*He now can sit up with a little bit of us holding his arms.
*He can basically stand on his own (But doesn't have any balance)
*He smiles like crazy when you talk to him!
*I swear he says mom when he cries lol!
*He loves tummy time.
*He eats like its nobodies buisness!
*He sleeps through the night! (Which Matt and I love!)
*He has a favorite blanket already. It does wonders!

He is growing up so fast and I hate that I have to leave him so soon. :(

I have to go back to work on Monday and I dreading it.. I miss him even when he is taking his nap in his crib..I don't know how I am going to handle being away from him for 8 hours at a time.. :(

I am currently trying to find a new job. And its not really working that well.. But on the other hand Matt has job opportunities coming out of his ears! I don't know how someone can be so good at getting jobs! It drives me insane. But I am so proud of Matt for trying so hard to provide for our new little family!

Lets see...
Matt and I have been so blessed. It has been a miracle having Cohen here with us. We thank Heavenly Father every single day for sending us our little ball of joy and for all the many blessing he has given us.

p.s. your welcome kelsie :) ha
